£50.00 GBP
Handcrafted solid silver spoon ring made from a vintage sterling silver spoon.
This ring displays the Trefid* spoon's original hallmark on the outside and forms part of the design, it tells us the spoon was first made in 1954 in Sheffield - it's 67 years old!
The initials C.G.C are on the end of what would have been the handle.
*The shape of the handle is flared at the end and divided in three which makes it a design dating back to the 17th century. This is known as a Trefid spoon.
Each ring will be accompanied by a change of use certificate from The Assay Office and comes boxed and ready to give as a gift.
UK Size V
The ring measures 25mm at the highest point and 2.7mm at the lowest point.
Spoon rings originated in 17th century England and were originally used as wedding rings. Servants could not afford to have wedding rings made of precious metals so they would steal the silverware from the manor houses and have them turned into wedding rings. For a time you could tell who the servants were working for by the crest on their rings.
